Vegetables provide variety on the grill. A specialty here is grilled zucchini. We present 3 preparation ideas.
The days when only sausages and steaks were grilled are long gone. Today, various vegetables are often put on the grill, including zucchini, for example.
The elongated fruit thighs can be filled, cut or marinated on the grill. The variety of preparation ideas is great. We would like to present three different recipes to you in more detail.
Satisfied faces and full plates
Depending on your needs, you can marinate the zucchini before grilling or only afterwards. Grilled zucchini is also a hearty change from sausages, meat skewers or steaks.
❶ Season un-marinated zucchini at the table
- 1 to 2 zucchini
- Salt, pepper, herbs at will
Wash the zucchini and cut them into slices about 1 cm thick. Then you can put the zucchini slices in a stainless steel grill bowl (healthier than that made of aluminum!) And then place them on the hot rack.
The zucchini slices are cooked in about 5 minutes. At the table, everyone can season the vegetable slices as they want. In addition to salt and pepper, chilli, chopped garlic or herbal salt are suitable. Fresh herbs such as rosemary, parsley and thyme should be on the table to choose from.
❷ Spicy marinated zucchini - a hot tip
- 1 to 2 zucchini
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- 1 clove of chopped garlic
- Salt, pepper, possibly chilli
herbs if desired, such as rosemary and thyme
Make a marinade from the above ingredients and put the zucchini slices in it. Let it steep for 2 hours. The marinated vegetable slices are grilled for about 5 minutes. To do this, simply place your cut and pickled zucchini on the grill or in a grill bowl.
❸ Filled with bacon, vegetables or cheese
Stuffed zucchini from the grill grate are also popular. When filling, you can leave your imagination free. For example, sliced tomatoes, feta pieces, grilled cheese or strips of bacon are well suited. Simply hollow out the zucchini and then add the desired filling.
»Another tip: Cut the fruit lengthwise three times and put tomato slices, thin slices of feta cheese or strips of bacon into the slits. Put the filled zucchini in a casserole (healthier than aluminum foil!), Add salt, pepper and herbs. Then close the casserole and place it on the grill for about 15 minutes. Mmm ...
