The gardening season is slowly but surely coming to an end. And although winter is within reach, there is still a lot to do in the garden. So the garden pond must also be made winterproof.

Since I am also the proud owner of a pond this year, I looked for instructions that briefly summarized all the important points. I finally found what I was looking for in a video by Fressnapf. Brief, concise & informative. Now winter can come - well, it can still take a little time. 😉 But the fish at least heal over the winter.

Did you know?

Fish stay at the bottom of the pond in winter, where the water is warmest. That is why it is so important that the pond has a minimum depth of 1.20 meters.

Goldfish can usually remain in the pond. If they are cultivated forms, then the time would be to move the fish at a water temperature of about 10 degrees. When the fish are in their winter rest, they should no longer be disturbed.
